Maria and Bruno's father relationship

Maria is the maid who moves to Out-With with Bruno's family. Her mother worked as Father's mother's seamstress, and Father offered her a job when she was destitute. It is implied that Maria is Jewish which makes this relationship interesting. Bruno's father commands the most notorious Nazi death camp while he employs Maria to look after his family.
