What is the meaning of Max painting over Mein Kampf. What is he able to express by doing this and by drawing over it, that he cannot convey in person?

In the painting, Max is eliminating his enemy..... something he cannot do in person..... only in spirit. His art is his rebellion. The nazis can kill Max but they cannot kill the ideas behind his art.
