The way the old Welshman reacts when Huck reveals the true identity of the Spaniard is that The Old Welshman almost jumped out of his chair. “‘Tain’t a Spaniard—it’s Injun Joe!’ ” He says this because he almost automatically knows who Huck is talking about. I think he reacts this way because The Old Welshman knows InJun Joe from this point in the story. Some people think that InJun Joe is a good guy, but he isn't..
