Why does Miss Watson think Huck is a fool to have asked her to pray for him to get fish hooks?

Miss Watson tells Huck that praying for things like hooks is foolish, she explains praying brings spiritual gifts. Unable to see any use for that sort of thing, Huck decides praying is probably not worth his time.
