when did mark twain use oxymoron-a figure of speech

I remember spending an inordinate amount of time searching for the elusive oxymoron....... never to find it! None the less, my favorite Twain oxymoron remains unchanged, and the example might just help someone find what we've all missed;

"The cruelest lies are often told in silence!"
