I would probably use the scene in Chapter 28 when Huck decides that sometimes telling the truth is actually safer than telling a lie. He says "I must lay it by in my mind, and think it over some time or other, it's so kind of strange and unregular. I never see nothing like it." His convictions are forcing him to think about the way to deal with the injustices he encounters.
