How does Twain again use weather to emphasize the mood and rising action of a conflict

Storms always seem to precede bad luck..... this storm has the group scamming their way through small towns and using three different scams at the the same time. Conflict will arise when word passes through the towns, and the reward for Jim (the phony handbills) will come back to bite them.
