How does the weather in the graveyard scene contribute to the modd?

This is sort of the climax of the whole swindle the Wilks scam. AS they exhume the body from the grave, the whether is all dark and stormy. There is an almost gothic element that Twain provides in this scene which goes well with the graveyard setting.
