Explain the conflict between Erik and Tino. What caused it? What was the outcome?

Erik comes home while Tino is visiting Paul, and Erik makes fun of Tino.... demeaning his social status, the fact that his is a laborer. Instead of cowering, Tino stands up to Erik, makixng comments of his own. In the end, Erik hits Tino in the face, knocks him down, and leaves him bleeding on the ground.
