how does steinbeck prepare the reader for Guinevere and Lancelot's kiss?
There is a lot of sexual/romantic tension going on between the two of them during the dinner. Steinbeck creates a sense of despondence through the two characters as they must reconcile that Guinevere is married to King Arthur.
