Romeo and Juliet

How is this quote relate to labels and Identity?

When Mercutio responded back to Tybalt in Act 3 scene 1; "Consort? What, dost thou make us minstrels? And thou make minstrels of us, look to hear nothing but discord". I was wondering how is this quote talking about labels and identity?

Mercutio is being pretty aggressive with Tybalt. Mercutio is taking offense to the word "consort" which he feels has demeaning connotations. He thinks Tybalt is labelling Montague boys as common musicians in a sort of band. Mercutio finds this label offensive.
