I do not believe that Karim hates Nancy. He is not, however, attracted to her, which she is obviously trying to accomplish.

Karim dislikes Robert (his French teacher). Again, I do not believe this is hatred and would describe it as suspicion.

Dave and Karim do not have a positive relationship, particularly, after Dave sexually assaults My-Lan. Over time, however, Karim learns to tolerate his presence.

Karim initially refrains from getting to know My-Lan because she reminds him of Maja. Over time, they become friends.

Bechir is Karim's best friend.
