Road to Chlifa

First Chapter

“I prefer insipid songs, after all, and morons for whom life is reduced to this phrase that some people wear on their t-shirts: 'Don't worry, be happy'” (p. 31) Can someone help me explain how Karim interprests the worries of his classmates? Thank you.

Karim sees the worries of his classmates as rather superficial compared to his worries. He finds the references rather like pop psychology that does not resonate with him.
