Min is skeptical because she likes her teacher, and Autumn Leaves is extremely encouraging. The Party, however, propogates misleading information and convinced Min otherwise. Min notes that Autumn Leaves loved her job, never tired of teaching, and she provided the children with things they needed (her own raincoat and umbrella), even if it meant that she, herself, would get sick.
