Why does the monster destroy the lighthouse in (The Fog Horn)

The fog horn resonating from the lighthouse seems to attract a sea monster who then destroys the light house. The fog-horn tricks the sea monster into thinking it has found a mate. The monster gets angry when it sees the lighthouse.
