What is the myth of Pygmalion about?

The myth, Pygmalion, is about the king of Cyprus, who scuplt a statue of a beautiful woman with whom he fell madly in love. He loved his statue to such a great degree that Aphrodite, the goddess of love, brought the statue to life.
