Main Character: Vivian Ward

Edward Lewis lives in greater conflict than Vivian. Vivian wishes to improve her life, but she is open, honest, and true to her feelings. Edward, on the other hand, is uncomfortable in his own skin. He has money, but he doesn't have happiness.

Vivian's goal is self-improvement. Edward's goal is money.
