Why did Anoosh want to talk with Marjane?

Before he died, why did he want to talk with Marjene? Why did not he choose somebody else?What was the purpose?

Anoosh and Marjane are alike in many ways, though Marjane is young. Uncle Anoosh wants to give her a swan.... a symbol of their shared beliefs and protection..... that he will be watching over her.
