Gladwell claims that low income children do not have the same opportunites or support that wealthier children have. Important barriers to their success include lack of outside assistance and no continuity during summer breaks. He claims that if these children attend school year round with rigorous academics and strict schedules, they can achieve the same potential as students in a higher economic level.
