Iago looks intact in Othello's eyes until the end of the play. Until then, Iago works on Othello's insecurities and appears to be a loyal "friend" Iago knows Othello's insecurities over masculinity as well as his obsessive belief in absolutes: Desdemona is either an angel or a cheating whore. Iago works on Othello's doubt and is skilled in manipulation.
