What is some evidence of Oedipus being ignorant in the play?

Oedipus was definitely ignorant. The guy killed his father and married his mother yet could not put all the pieces together. After killing his father Oedipus finds out the King has recently been murdered. There is even an eye witness that takes off into the mountains. Queen Jocasta just happens to be newly single. This begs the question; was Oedipus just ignorant or just unwilling to see the truth?
