Oedipus Rex

Corinth is where Oedipus is originally raised; after he leaves, his adoptive parents Polybus and Merope die of natural causes. In Thebes, Oedipus uncovers the truth about the murder of Laius who was Oedipus' biological father and was the man Oedipus murdered on the road between Corinth and Thebes. Ultimately, Oedipus' journey to Thebes resulted in the fulfillment of the prophecy that he would kill his father and marry his mother. He did marry Jocasta (his mother) and had four children with her.
