Oedipus Rex or Oedipus the King

HELP!! ANALYSIS

hey i need help analysing this quote::: can such a man, so desperate, still boast he can save is life from the bolts of god? if all such violence goes with honor now why join the sacred dance?

Oedipus is questioning why anything he can possibly do or say would make any difference in what the gods have already willed. He knows he cannot chage fate, and yet he question why he should play along in their games with human life. he doesn't want to join their "sacred dance," so he continues to choose honor over anything else.
