what are some personal connections you can make in Number the Stars?

This really depends on your opinion. I wasn't around during this era but I can appreciate the bravery it would have taken to oppose the Nazis. I really like the character of Uncle Henrik who was involved in the effort to smuggle Jews across the sea to Sweden. He helps the Rosens escape in a secret compartment on his boat.
