why did the author write the book flesh and blood so cheap: the triangle fire and its legacy by albert marrin?

I think the author wanted to expose the near slavery conditions poor factory workers in the March 25, 1911 fire at the Triangle Waist. I think it also works as a larger metaphor for workers that are forced into these unsafe conditions throughout the third-world.
