how does deception dehumanize?

Deception was a key ingredient in the success of the Nazi agenda. They confused the populace, they manipulated..... they sold the big "lie". Propaganda was so brilliantly used that the people didn't even notice.... slowly but surely everyone was sucked in. The Jews were deceived because they couldn't even begin to believe the atrocities they heard about, and the Nazis were careful to put on a fake front, to draw the Jews in..... to make themselves seem "not so bad". Once in the camps, the Jews were lied to, abused, and completely humiliated.... the treatment they received and the lies they were told left even the Jews themselves believing they'd done something to deserve it. Deception dehumanized them.... even in their own eyes.
