how are the Daltons and Thomas Family alike? How are they different?

I don't think these two families have much in common. The Daltons are wealthy and white and the Thomas family is poor and black. The Dalton's initially do have some sympathy for the plight of poor American blacks but even this is short sighted and superficial.
