How did Sam and Frightful save each other's lives?

This is for school and I don't know the answer. I would really like if you could help me out i need this good grade my teacher wont sign my course selection sheet without it. And, long story short no good grades no phone i am 13 years old and I don't have a phone my parents are quite strict on my grades and homework somplease hewlp me out.

Sam raised Frightful from the time she was very small. He fed her, taught her how to hunt, and he even teaches her how to come when he whistles. Frightful is a great source of companionship for Sam while he is living on Bitter Mountain.

Sam saved Frightful by taking care of her and teaching her how to end for herself. She saw Sam as a part of her flock, someone she needed to portect.
