Mr. Paul talks about attending an African American school before he went blind. He tells Hiram about the deteriorated conditions that are not found in "whites only" schools. Mr. Paul also becomes angry when Hiram repeats his grandfather's about white superiority. In response. Mr. Paul tells Hiram that the true purpose of different races it to teach one another about equality.
