Who finds Misha on the train tracks and helps him?

A farmer finds Misha on the tracks and brings Misha home with him. Misha stays on the farm, working for the farmer for three years before running away. Thus, it might be argued that the farmer didn't really mean to help him. The act, however, likely saves Misha's life.
