Oberon, even though he is the king of the fairies, acts very childishly when he argues with his wife Titania. It is much easier to see him as selfish since his desire to have an Indian prince as a knight and Titania's reluctance to grant him that desire makes him send Puck to bring back a love-potion flower which causes great confusion.
