Is there any verbal irony in the book Matched? If so what is it?

At the end of Chapter 14, Cassia is concerned as to why Ky would possess her compact and fail to return it to her. ,Xander tells Cassia that can trust Ky. This is an example of verbal irony because Ky is responsible for the rift in Xander and Cassia’s relationship..... something that Xander isn’t even aware of. Thus, while Cassia may be able to trust Ky..... Xander most certainly cannot.
