Macbeth

Why does Macbeth feel confident on the eve of battle? What is the first development that causes him to question his confidence?

Macbeth is feeling pretty good about the idea that no man born of woman can harm Macbeth. Unfortunately his fist prediction that Great Birnam Wood comes to fruition. It is actually English soldiers cutting down the wood and using the trees as camouflage: it looks like the wood is moving. This is a major setback for Macbeth.
