How does macbeth and lady macbeth's marriage reflect a typical medieval marriage?

I suppose on the surface, L. Macbeth waits at the castle while her husband is away on official war exploits for the knig. She is meant to be host and gentle nurturer when guests, like the King (Duncan), visits. In reality, their marriage is anything but typical. L.Macbeth wares "the pants" in the relationship. Initially she manipulates Macbeth to do her bidding.
