How might knowing these future events affect the choices these characters make in Act 1 Scene 3?

The idea is that Macbeth and Banquo do not know for sure these events will come to pass. Is it then their destiny or do they do things to force it to happen? In any case, the dramatic irony certainly adds another level of entertainment and interpretation for the audience.
