Even jack enumerates Ralph's fault, none of the boys is willing to oust Ralph as chief. What explanation can offered for this?
Even jack enumerates Ralph's fault, none of the boys is willing to oust Ralph as chief. What explanation can offered for this?
I think at this point the boys are too self-conscious to openly betray Ralph. Ralph is still their connection to the adult world and they are hesitant to sever this connection in front of Ralph. They would rather sneak over to Jack's side later on.
