In many parts of the novel the weather echoed the mood and heightened the effect of the action. In chapter 9 atmospheric condones how did they reflect and heighten the mood of the chapter?

In Chapter Nine, the storm intensifies after Simon's death, causing the boys to run for shelter. The stormy atmosphere becomes even more threatening when the parachutist is blown free from the tree, and the boys watch his flight across the island before his body is dropped into the sea. The boys, terrified, still believe the dead parachutist to be the beast.
