Lord of the Flies
In Chapter 5, Identify at least three areas of concern that Ralph addresses at the meeting, and explain why these might be an issue in the continuance of their society.
Ralph points out that there are only two shelters, only one of which is sturdy. Ralph and Simon built the other one, which is not sturdy. Ralph says that the boys will need them when it gets dark and the weather gets bad and they do not have enough. Boys are also going to the bathroom too close to their fresh water source and not by the rocks where they agreed. They are also not keeping a signal fire going. All of these issues point to their lack of preparedness on the island and their dwindling chances of being rescued by not keeping the signal fire lit.
