Examples of Irony:

Jack's ironic belief that the boys should have rules...

"We've got to have rules and obey them. After all, we're not savages."

Piggy's name...... which we never learn. Ironically, the boys hunt for pigs, and they kill Piggy, as well.

Irony is also found in the fact that the boys are saved because they've set themselves up for destruction by lighting the forest...... as well as the rest of the island on fire.
