Lord of the Flies

Discuss the idea of “human purpose” as seen by the two main characters here. How does Jack view humanity? Ralph?

Chapter 3. Lord of the Flies. Please help.

Ralph's idea of human purpose is to focus on the good of the group..... to make priorities. An example of this would be the construction of the huts and the need to keep the fire burning.

From the start, Jack's priority is the hunt..... doing what he wants to do, rather than doing what needs to be done. Jack considers Jack's view as frivolous.
