Immaculee described her inner turmoil as evil. She felt the "bitter taste of hatred," and felt she'd reached her limit for the capacity to forgive. She said that seeing the ruins of her home and village and visiting the graves of her loved one had choked the life out of her forgiving spirit. None-the-less, her faith in God helped her to forgive yet again.
