why was the land and evironment back then such an advantage for Native Americans ?

The natives knew the land well and could survive easily with minimum supplies. THey knew how to make medicines from nature that the Europeans did not have. They also fought a type of war the Europeans, English especially, were not prepared for. They would camouflage in the forest and attack at will.
