how are the native Americans characterized

Native Americans are portrayed in a few different ways in the film. Hawkeye, the white Native American, speaks perfect English, as do his Native American adopted family, Chingachgook and Uncas.

The members of the Huron tribe are depicted as bloodthirsty warriors, who wish to rid their land of the white men.... as well as their children. The Huron wish to wipe out the white race.
