What is the agreement that Mr. Rankeillor made with Ebenezer?

Ebenezer bargained and Alexander made one concession after another to the selfish Ebenezer. Finally they agreed that Alexander could have the woman but Ebenezer would take the estate. As a result, David's parents were poor for the rest of their lives.
