Gulliver is an explorer at heart. He likes to discover new culture and is always aware of objectivity. There are quite a few strange customs and laws in Lilliput that Gilliver observes. Here are a few:
-They write from one corner of the page to the other, “like the ladies in England.”
-The dead are buried with their heads pointing directly downward. The Lilliputians believed the world was flat hence the dead will rise again when the Earth is upside down.
-Anyone who falsely accuses someone else of a crime against the state is put to death.
-Children are raised not by individual parents but by the kingdom as a whole. Parents see their children only twice a year.
