Why might the Moose support Saul to listen to the stranger?

I'm thinking you mean the Scout from the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Moose know that Saul is too good for the level of play they are at. They want an aboriginal to have a shot at the big league: they want Saul to be that man. The Moose love Saul and want him to break free of his past; they want Saul to excel at the highest level.
