Saul was no longer simply Ojibway Indian, Indian Horse, kid.....he was also a hockey player. This meant that he trancended race, culture, education...he became something else.

" I became a brother. I basked in the glow of this regard."

Saul's hockey team became an extended family where he found his purpose- where he found his magic.
