How does Saul gain the name Indian Horse?

In Chapter 2, we learn that Saul's grandfather was the first to introduce horses to the Ojibway tribe. The Ojibway embraced the horse as a part of their culture, and many of the tribespeople adopted the surname Indian Horse.
