Courage in Indian Horse

Saul is courageous throughout the book. Saul needs to be brave the moment he is born. His family runs away to God's lake to get away from the government agents. They live in the elements and work hard to survive. At Residential School, Saul shuts himself off emotionally just to exist. Saul finally discovers hockey and teaches himself to skate. Saul eventually enters the white world of Hockey and endures endless taunting and racism. Finally, Saul must face his own daemons to find himself again.
