Capote's choice of narrative technique, which essentially consists of two different points of view, allows for different perceptions of events and characters. For the most part, Capote chose the third-person point of view, using an omnisicent narrator. For the more personal sections, he chose to use the first person with a variety of narrators. In doing this, he lends a sense of urgency to the story, and the reader sees the events unfold through the eyes of actual witnesses.
